UFO Robot Grendizer – The Feast of the Wolves, an upcoming mecha adventure game from developer ENDROAD and publisher Microids, has just revealed a figurine prize. Designed by Plastoy, the figurine measures 25 CM tall (almost 10 inches) and comes with collector edition purchases.
UFO Robot Grendizer doesn’t have a release date yet, since it was only announced last February, but it’s still expected to launch in 2023. It will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.
However, the collector edition teased today is only confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. You can watch the full figurine reveal on the Microids YouTube channel:
Figurines are a fantastic collectible found in many collector’s editions, even for the smallest games. However, figurines are a cornerstone of mecha fandom.
The art design of these characters often plays a large role in their popularity. The translation of their personality via color scheme, motion, and setting is genuinely important. Also, the mecha genre is already larger than life, so it lends itself to dazzling collectibles.
Today’s trailer shows off a figurine that is surprisingly tall, but a little less detailed than fans may have hoped. The textures sometimes feel a bit more like clay than metal. Naturally, figures accompanying a video game aren’t expected to be comparable to the more serious figurines though.
Besides, it does have a colorful and playful spirit. The softness of its features helps the colors pop, and the pose feels decently animated. The base is a nice touch that adds to the sense of action.
Depending on the price tag, this figurine could simply be worthwhile as a part of the mecha collection experience. Notably, today’s trailer closes by promising that more content will be revealed soon, so the collector editions are definitely going to offer even more incentives.
