Undisputed, the brand-new boxing game from indie developer and publisher Steel City Interactive, has just released full patch notes for its very first content update. The update is available now on Steam, where Undisputed is also playable in Early Access. A PlayStation and Xbox launch are both planned. Here is today’s full update announcement from Undisputed’s official Twitter feed:

Boxing games have evolved a lot over the years, with high standards set by the likes of Creed: Rise to Glory, which is arriving on PS VR2 next April. Despite these expectations, Undisputed has performed pretty well, especially for an indie game.

The sheer volume of licensed boxers is remarkable, and there’s some strong freedom of movement, which allows players to discover and master strategy. These features are all crucial for an indie game with graphics that show its budget.

Most of the issues raised by fans involve technical problems, which is natural for an Early Access game. While today’s patch only includes smaller bug fixes, the notes should still come as a major relief, since they directly address plans for cheaters and the frequent desync problems.

It is just plain odd how many cheaters seem to enjoy exploiting games, particularly in the indie scene. Undisputed has announced plans to continue advancing their cheat detection with further updates over time, according to today’s official blog post. This process will probably take a long time, but at least they’re showing more initiative than some much larger studios.

The devs carefully note that today’s patch does not resolve desync errors, yet, although they are working on it. The roadmap that was released yesterday doesn’t mention technical patches, and only content. So, it’s unclear just how long fans will wait before disconnecting is fixed up. At the very least, all of the new content is fantastic, and its extent continues to impress.
