Blade Ball offers many abilities players can use, and more are added with updates. Yet some of these skills are not like the others and are called “Passives”. We’ll explain what passive means and how it affects you if you choose to use these skills in the arena.

Blade Ball Passive Abilities – How To Use Them?
In Blade Ball, ‘passive’ refers to abilities that are automatically active without any need for player input. Unlike other abilities where you have to press or click to activate them, passives work silently in the background, allowing players to focus on deflecting the ball and securing kills.
When you equip a passive ability, you won’t need to click on it or use it in any active way. Some passive abilities may have a recharge period, similar to active abilities, but they don’t require activation and stay effective indefinitely until the player’s character dies.
Passive abilities are particularly appealing to advanced Blade Ball players, offering them an edge without being heavily reliant on abilities. However, with abilities like Martyrdom, which caters to a different play style, the dynamics change, and these are great for new players or a way to get kills to complete quests and the like.
All Passive Abilities in Blade Ball
Blade Ball features a range of passive abilities, and each one is unique:
- Reaper: This ability increases your speed and the ball’s speed with every kill in the match, stacking up to five times.
- This ability is more for those who are skilled. They can purely focus on deflecting the ball, curving the ball, targeting novice players, and the like. Ensuring they get this buff that makes them faster.
- Martyrdom: On death, you explode into a burst of energy, forcing the ball to target and debuff your killer.
- This ability is perfect for those out for vengeance or for those who want to almost guarantee a kill every match to help you complete kill quests. Here’s our guide on How To Use Martyrdom in Blade Ball.
- Quad Jump: Enhances your mobility by providing four jumps instead of the regular two.
- This is the weakest of the three passive abilities and, honestly, shouldn’t even be purchased to use. Apart from an advantage of extra height that may catch people off guard, it’s useless.
- Tact: Curve the ball further when parrying it.
- This ability helps players curve the ball more when deflecting it, which may catch players off guard as it may go outside their line of sight for a moment. But that moment may be enough to earn a kill.
