Wild Hearts is a fast-paced action game with a vibrant, stylized aesthetic and a synth-pop soundtrack, where players travel through surreal and dreamlike landscapes, battling foes, and dodging obstacles. There are many different materials and ingredients you might need to progress and craft things in the game, including many that drop from Giant Kemono. This is our Goldshard Materials Guide for Normal, Mighty, and Volatile Goldshards in Wild Hearts and how to get the different materials available in-game.
Goldshard Materials Guide – Normal
Goldshards are Giant Kemono that can be found in Akikure Canyon Chapter 2. Their Elemental Weaknesses are Plant and Wind, and they are weak to Blunt and Piercing weaponry. To swiftly take down a Goldshard, you will want to focus attacks on its head and tail, where it is weakest, while using Shield Wall Karakuri to prevent taking damage from its spines when it shoots them. You will want to avoid using fire and earth-based weapons, which are weak against this Kemono.
Here are all of the crafting and upgrading materials that normal Goldshards can drop so that you can craft or upgrade armor/weapons to get to end-game hunts!
| Crafting Material | Notes |
|---|---|
| Goldshard Calculus | Defeat |
| Goldshard Claw | Break claws |
| Goldshard Incisor | Break head |
| Goldshard Spine | Defeat |
| Goldshard Stipe | Break tail |
| Veteran Kemono Blood | Defeat |
| Veteran Teardrops | Defeat |
| Small Harvest Crystal | Defeat |
Goldshard Materials Guide – Mighty
Mighty Goldshards are Giant Kemono that can be found in Akikure Canyon during Chapters 3 and 4, but you can often look for icons of this beast on the main map by participating in ongoing hunts. To take down a Mighty Spineglider, the battle is similar, you’ll just need to be more agile, more alert, and make sure you have the appropriate gear to do battle effectively.
Here are all of the crafting and upgrading materials that Mighty Goldshards can drop so that you can craft or upgrade armor/weapons to get to end-game hunts!
| Crafting Material | Notes |

| Goldshard Incisor | Break head |
| Long Goldshard Tail | Break tail |
| Prized Goldshard Calculus | Defeat |
| Sharp Goldshard Spine | Defeat |

Goldshard Materials Guide – Volatile
Volatile Goldshards are Giant Kemono that can be found in the Akikure Canyon during Chapters 5, but you can often look for icons of this beast on the main map by participating in ongoing hunts. Their weaknesses are the same regardless of level, but they will be stronger and more challenging at the Volatile level.
What separates your ability to successfully take down a Volatile Goldshard and a normal one is really your gear and mastery of Karakuri to effectively block/shield damage, dodge and avoid obstacles, and generally maneuver to do the most damage while taking the least damage possible.
Here are all of the crafting and upgrading materials that volatile Goldshards can drop so that you can craft or upgrade armor/weapons to get to end-game hunts!
| Crafting Material | Notes |

| Akikure Keystone | Defeat |
| Giant Autumn Breeze Crystal | Defeat |
| Magical Akikure Orb | Defeat |
| Magical Goldshard Orb | Defeat |
Remember, some items require you to break certain parts of the Giant Kemono, while others are more common drops after slaying one in any manner. Not all drops are guaranteed, though, so be prepared to grind for some materials.
