Alone in the Dark just teased The Dark Man in a new cinematic trailer yesterday, which also hinted that more information would be revealed today. It remains to be seen if the Collector’s Edition trailer is the full extent of that, because there’s plenty left to explore.

Either way, the Collector’s Edition does look fantastic, with an extraordinary breadth of content that goes above and beyond the obligatory components.

The Dark Man statue is smartly put front and center. It’s unexpectedly tall at 10 inches, and features high-quality details, right down to the stitching on their attire and the discolored texture of their signature mask.

Many comparable figures are simply broad representations, or even end up as a simple acrylic stand. Even the Ostadte miniature looks refined. These two figures are definite highlights and make the Collector’s Edition worthwhile.

It would be nice if the artwork on the packaging were more thoughtful, and a steelbook that glows in the dark feels novel but a little silly. Still, the doorhanger is a very nice touch, both creepy and thematic.
