What Is a Unit Familiar in Anime Vanguards
Introduced in Anime Vanguards Update 1.5, Unit Familiars are companions that provide buffs to your units. These buffs include increased elemental damage, critical hit chance, and critical hit damage. These are just basically free buffs to your units, but they can only be equipped to one unit. You have to get more Unit Familiars to equip them for others.
How to Get a Unit Familiar in Anime Vanguards
To get a Unit Familiar in Anime Vanguards, you must take on the new Occult Raid. Every time you take down a boss, you get a 1% chance to get a Unit Familiar. Since the drop rate is so low, be prepared to defeat a lot of bosses before you get your hands on one unless you’re incredibly lucky. You cannot purchase Unit Familiars; you have to grind for them.
All Unit Familiars in Anime Vanguards
At the time of writing this Unit Familiar guide, there is only one Unit Familiar in Anime Vanguards, Turbo Granny, inspired by the anime Dan Da Dan. Yet, I suspect that in future updates, more will become available.
Each Unit Familiar provides unique passives to the unit they are attached to. The type of buff is consistent for each familiar, but the exact values are randomized. For example, if a familiar gives an “Increased DMG” buff, one player might get 5%, while another gets 3.8%.
Unit Familiar | Unit Familiar Passives | How to Get |
---|---|---|
Turbo Granny | Granny Guidance Boosts elemental damage Beckoning Cat Boosts critical chance. Raises critical damage with each attack until a critical hit occurs, then resets the critical damage | Occult Raid |
