Today, as the COVID-19 situation in Shanghai continues to worsen, and hours after HoYoverse, the developer behind Genshin Impact revealed in an official Twitter post that the game’s upcoming version 2.7 has been indefinitely delayed, a new leak surfaced, revealing that the update may have been delayed by a total of 3 weeks.
The leak was revealed by known leaker Lumie through a Twitter post, and is, in their words, questionable. HoYoverse has not yet revealed the new release window for the upcoming update. You can check out Lumie’s post below, courtesy of their official Twitter profile:
According to previous leaks by known sources in the community, as well as the ending date of the game’s current banners, Genshin Impact’s version 2.7 was expected to be released in the second week of May 2022. Genshin Impact’s upcoming version 2.7 is set to bring not only a new wave of quests and events but also the debut of the game’s upcoming playable characters, 5-Star Hydro Archer Yelan and 4-star Sword user Kuki Shinobu. Apart from the two new characters, Arataki Itto, Xiao, and Yanfei are also set to play major roles in the upcoming update. Also, according to a leak by Uncle Y, made public by Save Your Primos, the upcoming versions’ first wave of banners will be starred by Yelan and Xiao, while its second wave will feature the first Arataki Itto rerun and the debut of Kuki Shinobu.
