Anime Defenders Portal Hardeners Guide – How to Get
The only guaranteed method to obtain them in Anime Defenders, as far as I know, is by leveling up the Athenyx Battlepass. There is also a potential method of obtaining them by completing challenges in Athenyx Realm, but I cannot confirm this. It makes sense due to other new items being rewards for completing challenges.
Athenyx Battlepass
The new Battle Pass contains the Portal Hardeners you are looking for. You can obtain the Portal Hardeners at the following Battle Pass levels:
- Level 8
- Free – 8x Portal Hardener
- Premium – 15x Portal Hardener
- Level 19
- Free – 10x Portal Hardener
- Premium – 20x Portal Hardener
Athenyx Challenges
I am unable to personally confirm another method, but it may be possible to obtain Portal Hardener from Athenyx challenges due to Athenyx Tethers and the new Elemental Tokens being challenge rewards. However, I haven’t come across any Portal Hardeners due to the rotation. According to the Anime Defenders Discord, it is possible to obtain them from challenges.
How to Harden Portals in Anime Defenders
In order to obtain a Harden portal, you’ll need to create it by merging a portal with several Portal Hardener items. The quantity of items required varies based on the rarity of the portal. For instance, you’ll need one Mythic Hardened Portal and five Portal Hardeners to create a Mythic Portal. To create a Rare Hardened Portal, you’ll need one Rare Portal and one Portal Harderer. Basically, add an extra Portal Hardener for every increase in rarity/tier.
What do Portal Hardeners do in Anime Defenders?
Portal Hardeners in Anime Defenders are crafting items used to harden portals through crafting. When used, they enable an upgraded portal to drop another portal of the same rarity, allowing for another attempt at obtaining a unit of the portal’s rarity. For example, using a Portal Hardener on a Lunar Mythic becomes a Lunar Hardened Mythic Portal and will guarantee the drop of another Lunar Mythic Portal on completion, providing another chance to obtain a Secret Portal, which has a low drop rate.
So does that mean hardened portal drop hardened portal?
Ah apologies I see now how you would think that. I’ll change that to make it easier to understand. So Portal Hardeners are a crafting material that you need to use on the Portal itself to make it into a Hardended Portal. Then once that Portal is completed it’ll drop the same tier of Portal you just completed.
