In the newest release of Fisch, version 1.20.2, a new item called Speed Boots has been introduced. True to its name, this item enables players to run at greater speeds and traverse large areas more swiftly. To obtain the Speed Boots, you first need to accept a quest from Dr. Crookspine and retrieve a Speed Core for him. Below is a guide on locating the Speed Core in Fisch.

Fisch Speed Core Guide – Where to Find
The Speed Core is one of the key components needed for Dr. Crookspine’s Invention Quest in Fisch. You’ll need to collect three specific items for this quest: Rocket Fuel, Speed Core, and Boots. While some of these items can be tricky to get, the Speed Core has a specific fishing location where you can find it.
Where to Find the Speed Core in Fisch
The Speed Core is a secret fish that can be obtained by fishing at a specific location. Unlike some other secret items that require fishing anywhere in the ocean, the Speed Core is tied to a particular area.
- Location: Sunstone Island
- Coordinates: X: -932, Y: 131, Z: -11090
- Fishing Requirement: Any bait can be used, but Weird Algae is recommended
- Depending on Server Luck that is
- Penalty: -20% progress speed when hooked

Head over to Sunstone Island and start fishing there. You might catch a lot of bait crates before getting the Speed Core, but keep fishing—it will show up eventually.
Best Bait for Catching the Speed Core in Fisch
While any bait can technically work, the best option for increasing your chances is Weird Algae due to its high Universal Luck. Other good baits include:
- Seaweed – Decent boost to luck
- Golden Tentacle Bait – A newer option with strong potential
Weird Algae is especially effective when trying to catch secret fish in Fisch. Many players have reported higher success rates when using it.
Things to Expect When Fishing for the Speed Core in Fisch
- It’s not guaranteed right away – You might catch other things before getting it.
- Bait crates are common – Expect to pull up a lot of them.
- Mutation versions exist – Some players might get a mutated version, but since you have to turn it in for the quest, mutations don’t matter much.
Once you fish up the Speed Core, you can bring it back to Dr. Crookspine. After turning in all three required items (Rocket Fuel, Speed Core, and Boots), you’ll be able to get your GlimmerSuit Boots.
