The Bloodline does offer a third person on top of the default first person but it is not presented in the controls screen. We have the key needed as well as a fix to the bug that happens sometimes when you try it. Below you’ll get all the information you need on switching to third-person in The Bloodline.

You can find more information about things you’re not really told about in The Bloodline with our guide on sneaking. Another issue that the game doesn’t tell you about is illnesses, which you can find a cure to in our guide on curing sicknesses.

The Bloodline – how to activate 3rd person mode

To switch from first person to third person in The Bloodline, you have to press comma which is the , button on your keyboard. This can be found in between the letter M and the period above your space bar. You’ll see yourself looking at your player character, which is a really ugly sight. You look like a gray monster and to be honest it reminds me of an ogre or a troll.

There have been some cases where this key has not worked, but don’t worry, this is just another bug. This is just the game having an issue, much like the stuck bug but unlike the fix for getting stuck, you actually have to leave the game to fix this one. If you restart and try again, you should be able to access third-person by pressing the key.

The game will tell you that it’s not meant to be played in the first-person, but you can ignore that if you want. Everything you can do in first-person can be done in third-person. You can use the crosshair and it is still accurate, so we’d say there’s not really a good reason to stay away. Even when you grapple and attack, there are animations that play that involve your entire body, so it’s still visually appealing.
