Super Mario Wonder is a game that has captivated the hearts of many, offering a variety of characters to choose from. But do these characters offer different gameplay experiences, or are they merely cosmetic choices?

In this guide, we’ll explore if everyone is the same or if they are unique. As you’re here, check out Super Mario Wonder Angry Spikes & Sinkin’ Pipes Wonder Seeds Guide or How Many Levels & Worlds in Super Mario Wonder!

Are There Any Character Differences in Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, all the characters have the same abilities, but two stand out—Nabbit and Yoshi. Nabbit is unique because he doesn’t get hurt by enemies. He can’t use power-ups, but he has the standard abilities like dash, ground pound, and spin jump. Yoshi also doesn’t get hurt by enemies and can’t use power-ups. However, Yoshi can jump super high with a flutter jump and can eat enemies.

So, if you are learning the ropes or are new to 2D Mario platformers, choosing either Nabbit or Yoshi are the best characters for you!

The Regulars: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Toadette

Characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Toadette don’t have any special abilities or differences in Super Mario Wonder. They can use all the power-ups and take damage from enemies. They run and jump at the same speed, making them equally good or bad, depending on how you look at it. What character you choose is completely down to personal preference or who you think looks the funniest as an elephant.

Personally, I wish Yoshi could be played the same as the other characters, but you could toggle on his extra feature of not getting hurt, as Yosh is my favorite character.

Character-Specific Blocks

Some blocks in the game are only visible to specific characters. These blocks remain hidden when you play as a different character, but you can still bump them to get the coin or item inside. Keep a look out for standees, as players leave these behind to indicate there is an invisible block there.

In Super Mario Wonder, while most characters offer a similar gameplay experience, Nabbit and Yoshi provide unique abilities that can make the game easier for new players. However, the trade-off is that they can’t use the cool power-ups available in the game. So pick your favorite and enjoy this extremely charming game.
