How To Get Solar/Lunar Essence Extract in Anime Defenders, and What Does It Do?
In Anime Defenders, you can learn about Lunar and Solar Essence Extract in two ways: by obtaining it yourself and wondering what it does, or by looking at the crafting station and wondering how to obtain it.
What Does Lunar/Solar Essence Extract Do in Anime Defenders?
Lunar/Solar Essence Extract is an evo (evolution) item for two secret units in Update 4 Part 2. You need Lunar Essence Extract to evolve Lunar Huntress and Solar Essence Extract to evolve Solar Slayer. Both units can only be obtained from the Lunar Temple Secret Portal and Solar Temple Secret Portal.
- For Lunar Huntress, you need to craft the Moon Necklace, which you need x250 Lunar Essence Extract.
- For Solar Slayer, you must craft the Solar Sigil, for which you need x250 Solar Essence Extract.
How to Get Lunar/Solar Essence Extract in Anime Defenders
To get Lunar/Solar Essence Extract in Anime Defenders, you must finish either the Lunar Temple Portal or the Solar Temple Portal. Lunar Essence can only be obtained in Lunar Portals, and Solar Essence can only be obtained in Solar Portals.
The amount of Essence Extract you receive depends on the rarity of the portal. For instance, completing a Rare Lunar Temple Portal typically yields 2x Essence, while completing a Legendary portal can reward you with 5x Essence.

- Epic Portal – x3 Essence Extract
- Legendary Portal – x5 Essence Extract
- Mythic Portal – x6 Essence Extract
- Secret Portal – x32 Essence Extract
Naturally, the most effective method to obtain Lunar/Solar Essence Extract is by completing the Lunar Temple Secret Portals and Solar Temple Secret Portals. However, by the time you find one, you’ll likely have an abundance already!
