Gameloft’s anticipated kart racer Disney Speedstorm officially launches its free to play version today, months after it first entered paid Early Access last April. Early Access also provided players with exclusive content.

The full release will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. It kicks off with Season 4, “The Cave of Wonders”, which has an Aladdin theme.

In celebration of the full release, the devs have presented a Worldwide Launch Event. It includes a sneak peek of Seasons 5 and 6, what changes are coming for the full release, and more. You can watch the full event on Disney Speedstorm’s official YouTube channel:

Disney Speedstorm also recently teased that the worldwide mobile launch is coming soon, which would be available for both Google Play and Apple users.

The stream actually began without functioning audio, which is pretty amusing. It also probably doesn’t bode well for fans that were concerned about the health of the game.

Fortunately, fans didn’t miss much, as the devs simply recapped their Early Access experience. However, they did mention that following all of the game modes added during Early Access, there are plans for even more game modes in the future. For example, Season 4 is adding the Color Match mode.

Once the stream delved into full release, it showed off some glimpses of the new racers’ stats and potential cosmetics. Most of the technical details about improvements were already announced in an official pit stop blog, released earlier today.

The biggest reveal was undoubtedly the upcoming Frozen-themed and Little Mermaid content. Season 5 will add a new adventure map, 5 new racers, and more in November. Season 6 is coming in 2024 and is set underwater, hinting at a season themed around The Little Mermaid, though only 4 new racers will be added.
