This guide focuses on getting the Rod of Time, a new craftable item in the Roblox experience, Fisch. It was added as part of the Cursed Event Update. It’s not just given to you; you’ll need to gather specific materials by using the new AFK feature. We’ll cover everything you need to know, from finding the AFK area to the rod’s (somewhat disappointing) stats.

How to Get the Rod of Time and Hourglass Boat in Fisch.
The Rod of Time isn’t something you can buy or find lying around in Fisch. You need to craft it using materials found in the new AFK feature Fisch has implemented called the AFK Mine. The list below has all the materials you need to acquire to craft the Rod of Time:
- x1 Timeless Threading
- x1 1000-Year-Old Wood
- x1 Ethereal Glass
- x1 Sand of Time
- x1 Mythical Essence
How To Get The Materials to Craft the Rod of Time
All of the materials needed to craft the Rod of Time are obtained as random rewards for staying in the new AFK Mode aka the AFK Mine. Here’s how to use it:
- Find the AFK Cave Entrance: Go to the lighthouse POI (Point of Interest) that’s opposite Moosewood island. The GPS coordinates are (230, 140, 44). You can practically jump there from spawn.
- Enter the AFK Mine: Go inside the cave at the base of the lighthouse. This will activate AFK mode, and you’ll see a screen showing your character (represented by the NPC Cole) inside the mine.
- AFK Rewards: For every minute you remain in the AFK Mine, you have a chance to receive a random reward. These rewards include the crafting materials you need, plus other things like in-game money (C$), bait, and even titles.

Understanding Luck in the AFK Mine
Your chances of getting good rewards in the AFK Mine are heavily influenced by your Luck stat. Here’s how Luck works:
- Base Luck: You start with a base chance of getting rewards.
- Boosting Your Luck: There are several ways to increase your Luck, making it more likely to get the rarer and more valuable items:
- Premium Boost: If you have an active Roblox Premium subscription, you automatically get a +50% Luck boost.
- Friend Boost: You can invite friends to join you in the AFK Mine. For each friend present, you get a +10% Luck boost, up to a maximum of +50% (with 5 friends). Note: Some players have reported issues with the friend invite system working correctly.
- Free AFK Luck (Stacking Boost): Simply by staying in the AFK Mine, you gain a stacking Luck boost. Every 15 minutes, your Luck increases by +10%, up to a maximum of +50% (after 75 minutes of continuous AFKing).
- Maximum Luck:
- With all possible boosts active (Premium, 5 friends, and fully stacked Free AFK Luck), you can reach a total of +150% Luck.
- For free-to-play players (without Roblox Premium), the maximum achievable Luck is +100% (from friends and Free AFK Luck).

How to Craft the Rod of Time
Once you’ve finally collected all the required materials for the Rod of Time, leave the AFK Mine. Interact with the Rod of Time silhouette (it looks like an outline of the rod) that’s located just outside the cave entrance. This will combine the materials and craft the Rod of Time for you.

AFK Mine Important Details
- Time is Key: Getting all the materials will take a significant amount of time. This is not a quick process. Be patient and leave your character AFKing whenever you’re not actively playing the game (school, work, sleep, etc.).
- Random Rewards: The rewards you get each minute are random. This means you might get lucky and get what you need quickly, or it might take a very long time.
- Trading You are not able to trade AFK items with other players.
Rod of Time Stats
Here are the stats for the finished Rod of Time:
- Lure Speed: 20%
- Luck: 25%
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 20%
- Max Kg: 2500Kg
The Rod of Time is considered a decent rod, particularly for beginners. It’s okay for fishing on the earlier islands (Forsaken Shores, Snowcap Island, Moosewood). However, given the massive amount of time and effort required to craft it, many players feel it’s not really worth it, especially compared to other rods you can get more easily.
