Get 75 Potential and Take the Shinigami Exam

First, you need to gain 75 Potential. To do this fast, you need to complete missions given to you by Divison Trainer. These two missions are your best way to farm Potential:

  • Wave Defense Mission: One of the best ways to earn Potential. You need to parry and defeat NPCs quickly. If you play Solo, only two enemies will appear. The more players that are helping, the more enemies will spawn.
    • The game’s slower pace makes parrying easy, so practice defeating NPCs as they spawn one by one.
  • Transport the Buyer Quest: Try this quest if Wave Defense is too challenging. It’s simpler since you only need to escort an NPC without fighting enemies. It may be more boring, but it is easy Potential farming.

Shinigami Exam

Once you have 75 Potential, find the professor in Soul Society. To do this easily, press comma, (,) on your keyboard and head towards the name Professor. There is no need to speak to the NPC; just sit on a chair to be the Shinigami Exame. Use these answers:

  1. How many captains are in the Gotei 13?
    • 13
  2. What is the first evolution of a zanpakuto?
    • Shikai
  3. What is ‘Zangetsu’?
    • A Zanpakuto Spirit
  4. What is the primary duty of Soul Reapers?
    • Protect the living world from Hollows
  5. Where do Soul Reapers live?
    • Soul Society
  6. Who is the creator of the Hogyoku?
    • Kisuke
  7. What is the name of the game you are playing?
    • Paradox
  8. What is 1 + 1?
    • 2

After passing the exam, your uniform will change, and you will officially become a Shinigami.

Reach 200 Potential and Start Shikai Attainment

Continue farming Potential until you reach 200. If you ever get the message ‘You Cannot Gain Anymore Potential Right Now,’ it basically means you have capped your Potential, and you need to fight Kisuke in Karakura Town; more details can be found here: What Does ‘You Cannot Gain Anymore Potential Right Now’ Mean in Paradox?

Once you have 200 Potential, you’ll unlock the ability to meditate. Press N to meditate and start the Shikai attainment process, as words will start appearing on your screen.

How to Complete the Shikai Meditation Minigame

During meditation, a minigame will appear. You must complete two Stages of this; then Stage 3 is a boss fight.

To complete this meditation minigame, you press the corresponding numbers on your keyboard, ranging from 1 to 4, that appear on your screen. The number doesn’t go above 4. But these are timed, so you must press the number quickly enough before the white circle becomes too small and disappears.

  • Stage 1 is easy; you must press one number at a time when it appears on the screen.
    • Once you complete it, you will receive a message saying, ‘You have advanced to stage 2 of the relationship.’
  • Now meditate again to begin Stage 2, which is much tougher since it requires pressing two keys simultaneously. Imagine a very basic Guitar Hero, where circles drop from above, and you need to press the number when the white circles fall into them.
    • In the image below, you need to press 3 and 4 together when they fall down into the number.

You need 40 points to pass. If you miss, don’t worry—you can skip inputs without losing points. After Stage 2 is complete, a message will appear: ‘ You have advanced to stage 3 of your relationship. You can begin Stage 3.

Stage 3: Fight Your Inner Spirit

Stage 3 of this process isn’t like the other two. Instead, you get teleported to the Spirit realm to battle your Inner Spirit. Walk down the flaming path, and your Spirit will be at the end. Keep holding E to interact with it, and eventually, the screen will fade to black, and the fight will begin.

This fight isn’t exactly difficult; just make good use of the parry system and time them well. Use your skills when openings occur; your Spirit should go down without many issues.

How to Activate Your Shikai

Once the battle is over, you’ll appear where you were meditating, but now with your Shikai unlocked. To activate your Shikai, press V on your keyboard to call out of the name of your Shikai. Each Shikai has unique abilities and a special weapon skin. You’ll get three Shikai moves mapped to Z, X, and C.

How to Get Vizard in Paradox

After unlocking your Shikai, you can start progressing toward becoming a Vizard.

First Vizard Stage Progression – Reach 350 Potential

To begin, you need to reach 350 Potential. Keep completing easy missions to grind it out. Once you have 350 Potential, speak to Cody, an NPC located in the central area of Soul Society. He will give you tasks, including acquiring a Mask Remnant, which has a 3% drop rate from the Eternal Flame Trials.

You can find the Eternal Flame Trials in Soul Society. Press comma (,) to toggle name tags and head toward the trial location. The trial consists of ten waves of enemies, with various modifiers to choose from. If you’re aiming for the Mask Remnant, select as many loot modifiers as possible to boost your chances of getting one.

Second Vizard Stage Progression – Adanced Meditation Minigames

Next, you’ll need to meditate again and complete the same minigame you did when obtaining your Shikai. However, this time it’s much harder. In Stage 1, you have less time to press the keys, and in Stage 2, the circles drop much faster.

Final Vizard Stage Progression – Grips, Ranked Wins, and Eternal Flame Trial

The final part of Vizard progression requires you to complete the following:

  • 30 Shinigami Grips
  • 20 Ranked Wins
  • 1 Eternal Flame Trial Completion

This stage is the most time-consuming and difficult part of the Vizard process. To make it easier, get friends to help you farm the 30 Shinigami Grips, or find players on the Paradox Discord server to take turns getting them. This will significantly reduce the grind time.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to complete the Ranked Wins and Eternal Flame Trial on your own. Once you’ve completed all the tasks, return to Cody to become a Vizard. This is the final stage of progression as a Shinigami in Paradox. You cannot get out Bankai quite yet.
