Many players are likely wondering how to change the Field of View (FOV) in The Front. Not everyone has the same screen, and wider screens tend to need a bigger FOV. If you have been searching for an in-game option to change FOV, we have the guide for you.

How to change FOV in The Front

Unfortunately, The Front doesn’t have a native way to adjust the in-game FOV. However, there is another way that we recommend using with caution. You can always manually change your FOV by changing the configuration file and using the game console commands.

Here is how to change the game files to let you modify FOV:

  • Find the Engine.ini File in the directory that has The Front game files.
    • By default, they’re at C:\Users\UserNameFolder\AppData\Local\ProjectWar\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor.
    • Make a backup of the file before making this next edit.
  • Open Engine.ini with a Text Editor
  • Scroll to the end of the file and add the following in two new lines at the end:
    • [/script/engine.localplayer]
    • AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

After this, you will be able to change the FOV from the game console. The methods described above require modification of game files. You should use these methods at your own risk. Due to the game’s early access status, we imagine that not everything in the final game is here. The developers will most likely add an FOV slider to the game if demand continues to rise.

While in the game, you can open the console window by pressing the ~ key on your keyboard. This is the Tilde key and is normally below the Esc key. After you open the game console, you can change the FOV based on percentages, so FOV 50 will reduce it by half. Keep going into you find your preferred FOV.
