In the game of survival and strategy that is The Front, power is not just a metaphor. It’s a tangible resource that fuels your base and all its operations. While crude oil is an option, it’s not the most efficient one, especially when you have other uses for it. The solution? Setting up a solar panel farm. This guide will walk you through the process, ensuring you have a renewable energy source for all your needs.

If you’re struggling with anything in this game, we’ve got guides such as How to Get ResinCrude OilPolymerfollowers, and more on our game page.

How To Start A Solar Panel Farm In The Front

The journey to start a self-sustaining base starts at the tech tree in The Front. Navigate your way to the tech section and follow the metal processor line until you reach the solar generator. This is where you’ll find the blueprints for solar panels and solar generators, along with other electrical equipment like circuit breakers, splitters, and couplers. Once you’ve unlocked these, you’re ready to start building your solar farm.

How to use Couplers and Circuit Breakers in The Front

Solar panels in The Front generate a certain amount of power each, so your first task is to figure out how much power your base needs. Once you’ve got that number, you can start placing your solar panels. The orientation and height don’t seem to affect power generation, so feel free to place them as you see fit, just not in dark places like caves.

The next step involves couplers. These handy devices consolidate multiple currents of electricity into one. For instance, if you have six solar generators, you can channel their output into two couplers. Each coupler takes the output from three solar generators. Then, you can connect the outputs of these two couplers to another coupler, effectively combining the power from all six generators into a single line. This consolidated power line can then be connected to a lead acid battery, which acts as your power reservoir.

How to Distribute Power in The Front

Once your battery is charged, you can connect its output to a circuit breaker. This device allows you to control the flow of electricity, turning it on or off as needed. From the circuit breaker, you can distribute power to various parts of your base using the standard electrical setup.

By setting up a solar panel farm, you’re optimizing your base’s operations in The Front. Solar power may not be enough to fuel everything right away, but it’s a sustainable option that will keep your base running for a good amount of time, especially during base defense scenarios.
