In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, certain Pokémons come with Hidden Abilities. These Pokémons can be obtained through activities like trading, breeding, or fighting in Tera Raid battles 3-stars or higher. Trading with other trainers is the quickest and easiest way to get a Pokémon with Hidden Abilities. Nonetheless, you may also get Pokémon with Hidden Abilities through breeding.
Getting Pokemon with Hidden Ability

To obtain a Pokémon with a Hidden Ability through trading, you may either make a deal with another player or get it in a surprise trade. When trading locally, a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required but if you are trading online, an active membership is required.
The Poké Portal provides access to trading and battles with friends. To access it, hit the X button to bring up the menu. From there, pick “Poké Portal” from the screen’s right-hand corner. Before accepting a trade, you may see the stats of the Pokémon you will get. Verify that the Pokémon you are receiving has the expected Hidden Ability.

If you currently own a Pokémon with a Hidden Ability, you may pass it on to its offspring via breeding. In earlier games, this feature was centered on daycares, but in Scarlet and Violet, breeding can be achieved through the picnic function. When you host a picnic anywhere in the wild, all of your Pokémon will be laid out in front of you. If they share the same egg group and one is male and the other is female, there is a possibility they may breed and produce an egg. The egg groups can be found in the Pokédex, but if you’re interested in breeding them properly, you’ll likely want to look them up on Serebii or Bulbapedia.
If the Pokémon with the Hidden Ability is a female, its offspring will be the same Pokémon, and they will inherit the Hidden Ability. However, if the Pokémon with the Hidden Ability is a male, its offspring will instead be the same Pokémon as the female partner, hence it will not inherit the Hidden Ability. Alternatively, male Pokémon may pass down their Hidden Ability by breeding with Ditto.
