Individual Values (IVs) are hidden numbers that determine if a Pokémon is stronger than another Pokémon of the same species. It generally has the most influence on any stat of any Pokémon. Unfortunately, for those who are seeking a simple method to check Pokémon IVs, the feature requires a significant amount of effort to be activated. You can only check the Pokémon IVs through the Judge function. Follow this guide if you want to learn how to check IVs and activate the Judge function in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!

To check the Pokémon’s Individual Values, it is required to complete the game’s Pokémon League storyline so you can activate the Judge function. As such, you will need to get all eight badges and defeat the Elite Four. Once you have achieved this, speak to the lady in the Pokémon Center and she will unlock the Judge function for you.

Afterward, press the X button to access the Main Menu, then select Boxes. Select a Pokémon in your Boxes, then press the + button to check stats, then press it again to check IVs. The following are the General Rating and Individual Values (IVs) you will see using the Judge function:

  • Amazing stats! – 151〜186
  • Great stats! – 121〜150
  • Good stats – 91〜120
  • OK stats – 0〜90
