Increasing Friendship level in Scarlet and Violet
To increase Friendship with your Pokémon, you can either acquire a Soothe Bell, host a picnic, or battle alongside the Pokémon. Using a Soothe Bell would be the quickest and easiest method to raise the Pokémon’s friendship level. This item is available in any Delibird Presents shop, which is mostly found in the major cities, so there should be one in Mesagoza. Soothe Bell costs 5,000 Pokédollars and is described as “An item to be held by a Pokémon. The comforting chime of this bell calms the holder, making it friendly.”
You can also build a Friendship level with a Pokémon by holding a picnic and sharing a sandwich with them, which can be at any flat open field area in the wild. To start a picnic, press the X button to open the Main Menu and select the Picnic function. During picnics, you may engage with the Pokémon by playing with them, preparing sandwiches to share, and washing them.
Another way to increase Friendship is using the new Let’s Go feature. Press the R button to use the Let’s Go feature and allow your Pokémon to stroll beside you while you explore the Paldea. This is likely a minor way to boost Friendship level, but it’s a decent way to grow Friendship as you explore the open world.
One of the most efficient methods to build Friendship with a Pokémon is to engage in battle alongside it. You want to make them the lead Pokémon and have them battle other Pokémon, whether they are wild or owned by other trainers. However, if a Pokémon faints during battle, its Friendship level decreases, but it may be restored through successful battles.
You can check your Pokémon’s Friendship level in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by talking to the woman with a Marill standing near the fountain at Cascarrafa City. If your Pokémon’s Friendship is at its maximum level when you speak to the woman in Cascarrafa City, she will give you the Friendship Ribbon.
