Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are here to bring exciting new features and game formats. One of the game features introduced in this generation of Pokémon is Tera Raid Battles. Tera Raids, simply known as raids, let you fight and tame unique Terastallized Pokémons within a time limit. Scarlet and Violet will allow players to join teams of four and explore the region of Paldea together. If you play the game in single-player mode, NPCs will fill the spots to help you conquer the Tera Raid. Follow this guide if you want to know how to join Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
Joining Tera Raids in Scarlet and Violet

To join Tera Raids with friends, you will need a Nintendo Online Membership. This will allow you to use any aspects of the game that requires the internet, such as Tera Raid Battles, Trades, and Link Battles. Note that this feature will only run for 60 minutes once the subscription is active. If you are not subscribed, you can only team up with NPCs or other players via local multiplayer.

There are two ways to Raid with your friends: hosting a Raid or joining a Raid. To host your Raid, you must first find a crystal. The crystal radiates brightly, and its color will depend on the Tera Type of the enemy Pokémon.

Interact with the crystal to show the options of the Tera Raid. You can challenge as a group to play with allies. You can invite friends using a Link Code or allow any player to join the Raid. If you pick the first option, you will be given a 6-character code to invite your friends. You can click challenge alone, and NPCs will fill up your team. The third option is about changing your Pokémon.
To join a Tera Raid, open the Poké Portal menu and click Tera Raid Battle. This will give you different Tera Raids of other players that are available to join. You can also enter the Link Code of the host. There is also a Random button to join a random Tera Raid battle. You must ensure you are connected to the internet by checking the bottom right corner of the screen.
