Bug Pokemon, on average, have the lowest starting HP and base stat total of any Pokemon type.

Bug is tied for the most resisted type with Grass, they have seven different types resisting each of them. Water-type attacks are the most effective at covering these resistant kinds. On average, they have the lowest basic Special Attack of any Pokemon.

Bug-type moves in Contests do not favor any particular Contest category.

Bug Type Weaknesses

Bug-type Pokemon have weaknesses to Fire, Flying, and Rock moves when on defense. While on offense Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Poison, and Steel take less damage from them.

Bug Type Strengths

Bug-type moves are strong (Super Effective) against Dark, Grass, and Psychic Pokemon. When a Bug Pokemon is on defense, they are resistant to Fighting, Grass, and Ground moves.
