Flying-type Pokémon often live in high altitudes, and most of them are birds and insects. The power of this Pokémon type is often related to aerial and wind attacks. Even though many Flying-type Pokémon have wings, some float, like Rayquaza and Gyarados.

On average, Flying-type Pokémon have the highest Speed of all Pokémon and of fully evolved Pokémon.

Flying-type moves are usually Cool in contests, but some might be Beautiful, Tough, Cute, or Clever. Their moves are often Physical. However, they can also be Special, and a select few are Status.

Flying Type Weaknesses

Flying-type Pokémon attacks are not effective against the Rock, Steel, and Electric-type Pokémon. Flying-type Pokémon attacks are weak against Rock, Electric, and Ice-type Pokémon.

Flying Type Strengths

Flying-type moves are strong (Super Effective) against Fighting, Bug, and Grass-type Pokémon. When a Flying-type Pokémon is on the defense, they are resistant to Grass, Fighting, and Bug-type moves, and Ground-type moves have no effect.
