Ice-type Pokemon are one of the rarest Pokemon types. Their defensive stats are ranked quite high, however, they are weak against various types of Pokemon. Ice-type Pokemon are a fun mixture of typical Arctic creatures like seals or yaks, while others are based on mythological creatures.
Most Ice-type moves are Beautiful, with the addition of a Cool move, in contests. No Ice-type moves are Clever, Cute, or Tough.
Some of the most well-known Ice-type trainers include Pryce, the Mahogany Gym Leader, Candice, the Snowpoint Gym Leader, and Brycen, the Icirrus Gym Leader.
Ice Type Weaknesses
Ice-type Pokemon have weaknesses to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type moves when on defense. Their attacks are not very effective against Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel-type Pokemon.
Ice Type Strengths
Ice-type moves are strong (Super Effective) against Grass, Ground, Flying, and Dragon Pokemon. When an Ice Pokemon is on defense, they are resistant to Ice-type moves.
