Fighting-type Pokémon specialize in melee attacks, such as punching and kicking. Interestingly, most Pokémon that specialize in fighting have a human-like body shape. This is because they represent practitioners of various martial arts and often represent the appearance of fighters or athletes.
As Ghost-type Pokemon are immune to Fighting-type moves, their immunity to Fighting can be nullified through Foresight or Odor Sleuth.
Fighting-type moves are usually Cool or Tough. None of their moves are Cute. Some of the most popular Fighting-type trainers include Chuck, the Cianwood Gym Leader, and Brawly, the Dewford Gym Leader.
Fighting Type Weaknesses
Fighting-type Pokemon have weaknesses to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves when on defense. Their moves are also not very effective against Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug, and Fairy-type Pokemon when on the offense.
Fighting Type Strengths
Fighting-type moves are strong (Super Effective) against Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel Pokemon. When a Fighting Pokemon is on defense, they are resistant to Dark, Bug, and Rock-type moves.
